About Derek

Derek Turner is an Irish writer presently living in Lincolnshire, who has written for the Times, Sunday Telegraph, Daily Mail, Literary Review, The Lady, Chronicles, Taki’s Magazine, Modern Age and many other journals in Europe and America. His first novel, Sea Changes, was praised by the celebrated Spectator columnist Taki, prize-winning author Jillian Becker, and Chilton Williamson, former Books Editor at National Review. Before taking up writing full-time, he worked as a gardener, sailor, salesman, security guard and editor, amongst other jobs almost equally disreputable. His latest book, a London-set novella entitled Displacement, will shortly be published by Endeavour.

Testimonials

“Isabel opened the doors that led to my work being published. Throughout, she has offered honest opinions and patient coaching – all without ever losing the courtesy, gentility and decency that makes her a pleasure to know. I owe her deeply!”
