Established by Isabel Atherton, Creative Authors Limited, is looking for books with strong commercial potential, literary fiction, arts and crafts, biography, autobiography, health, cookery and children's fiction. Other areas of interest include travel, history, humour, women's fiction and crime. Creative Authors Limited also represent a small number of scriptwriters.
Isabel Atherton has had wide exposure to the creative industries. In the past seven years she has headed up a marketing department for an international company and worked as a health journalist. Isabel has worked for four top London agencies and she is now an independent agent. Isabel holds a BA in English Literature and an MA in Contemporary Approaches to English Studies. Both were studied at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
All authors are individually handled by Isabel Atherton and Creative Authors Ltd prides itself on a personal and highly efficient service. Creative Authors Ltd aims to take first time writers and established authors to a new level of recognition. With all our authors we aim to establish a life-time relationship. However, we are selective and only take on new writers whose work we genuinely love.
How we support our writers:
- Creative Authors Ltd will carefully assess and edit our authors’ material.
- We will negotiate advances and royalties on our writers’ behalf.
- Advise on career paths, suggesting new directions where appropriate.
- We will keep a keen eye on publishing trends.
- Creative Authors will sell translation rights, US rights and exploit film and TV rights.
- We take particular interest in emerging markets, such as digital rights.
- We will follow up payments due to our writers.
- Creative Authors Ltd is always on hand to our writers for a chat and a cup of tea.
Our commission: Home 15%, USA/translation 20%. Dramatic 15%.
